We know we need to stay hydrated, but what does that really mean?
Our bodies need plenty of water and electrolytes to keep all systems running… when we're dehydrated we feel the impact on our well-being, our mental facilities, and our physical performance.
Unfortunately, most of the drinks that promote hydration are
full of junk – high fructose corn syrup, insane amounts of
sodium, and numerous ingredients we can't pronounce.
A 20 oz. bottle of a Leading Sports Drink has 34 grams
of sugar. That's far more than the daily recommended
limit for women of 25 grams, and near the limit of 37.5
grams for men... from just ONE "hydration" drink!
Coconut water is a healthier alternative, but many people
dislike the taste - not to mention the ecological footprint
of shipping bottles around the world.
Bumbleroot's Superfood Drink Mixes are a healthy, eco-friendly hydration drink the whole family will love. They contain a coconut
water base, and feature the African superfruit baobab. Real fruits and herbs add delicious flavor and more nutrients.
Simply open a package, mix with water, and enjoy. The powders
are made from real dried ingredients, and contain zero added
sugar or preservatives.
Finally... A hydration drink you can feel good about.
It blows nearly every
other superfood out of
the water according to its ORAC
score. This heavy hitter also
has potassium, magnesium,
calcium, and Vitamin C.
For our bodies to function
optimally, we should have
an alkaline PH blood level.
How do we do this? By eating
highly alkaline foods. Baobab
is one of the highest alkaline
foods available with a PRAL
rating of -52.
One serving (two
tablespoons) has 25% of
your daily recommended
value of Vitamin C and 24%

You've heard of probiotics,
but just as important are
prebiotics, which help that
good bacteria grow in your
gut. The fiber in the baobab
fruit has prebiotic properties.
Baobab trees - also known as
the "tree of life" grow in the
driest areas in Africa, which
are usually also the poorest
areas. Income opportunities
are scarce and harvesting
Baobab can provide the
people who live in these areas
the funds to improve their
quality of life.
When the fruit is ripe, it falls
to the ground and is picked
up by harvesters. No damage
is done to the tree. In fact,
certain practices that harm
the tree (like shaving the
bark to create rugs) are
prohibited in the areas
that harvest Baobab fruit
for income. So harvesting the
fruit actually helps
save the trees.
The fruit comes in raw,
powdered form. It adds
a tangy zest when added
to food or drinks.
Due to its many antioxidants,
vitamins and minerals -
athletes adding Baobab
to their diets are enjoying
increased energy and
lessened recovery times.
Ironman Matt White says,
"I used baobab in all my
smoothies in training leading
up to the Ironman race.
It provided sustained energy
throughout the day, even
after intense workout
Bumbleroot's flavors are provided by dried versions of the real thing – dried blueberries, lemongrass, pineapple, etc. And because they
are the real thing, they provide

No "added flavorings" here!
Best of all, Bumbleroot drinks contain no refined sugar.
The coconut water and organic monkfruit (a natural sweetener with a zero glycemic index) provide a lightly sweetened flavor.
While a lot of hydration drinks contain electrolytes you get plenty of from your diet - such as sodium - Bumbleroot contains different electrolytes and other minerals that will help you feel your best.
In addition to containing 30% of your daily recommended potassium, Bumbleroot drink
mixes also provide 15% of your daily recommended magnesium and manganese.
At Bumbleroot we've been building more than great products — we've been building a company we love, too.
A company that represents the things we care about:
Each day we ask ourselves: Is there a better way to do the things we do? Is there a more nutritious ingredient? Is there packaging available that's even better for the environment? Are our suppliers being paid fairly?
We've been chewing over these questions, and in so doing we've realized that there are a lot of improvements to be made in the way food products are made and food companies are run. We're not perfect, but we're working
hard to get close. Our goal is to create a company that we
can be proud of, so that you can too.
Through research, recommendations, and travel, we personally track down sustainable farmers and harvesters fighting the good fight. In particular, we seek out those who farm and harvest highly nutritious foods, such as the immune-boosting baobab fruit. Using these pure ingredients, our chefs prepare delicious and wholesome beverages and snacks that are jam-packed with antioxidants, vitamins and minerals and formulated to fuel your body.
We want you to feel great knowing that Bumbleroot products are good for you, the environment, and the farmer.

"I travel a lot for work and I

"I LOVE BUMBLEROOT! The

Thank you, Bumbleroot!"
The baobab fruit actually comes out of the fruit
as a pulp or powder. By adding other real dried
ingredients, you are able to enjoy baobab in
its natural form.
Shipping a powder uses far less natural resources than shipping liquid-filled bottles.
Did you know over 50 million plastic bottles are thrown away (not recycled) every day in the U.S.?
At Bumbleroot, we believe in reducing food packaging waste every chance we get. Our pouch-sized packaging helps create less trash that ends up in landfills. Currently, our packets aren't recyclable, but we are working to get them there.
The baobab fruit is naturally in powdered form.
The lemongrass and peppermint are dried then crushed into powdered form.
The coconut water, pineapple and blueberry
Currently we source from direct suppliers
that we know and trust or from distributors who we trust to be only sourcing from
sustainable supply chains.
All of the ingredients except for the coconut
water and the blueberry are organic. The
coconut water is raised just like organic
certified coconut water, but unfortunately
the certification is very expensive. We plan
to work toward sourcing organic coconut
water and blueberry in the future.
There is no agreed-upon pronunciation for
the baobab fruit. Even in Africa where it's
grown, people pronounce it differently. The
most common pronunciations are: Bow-bob, Bow-bab, Bay-o-bob, and Bay-o-bab.
Try them out and pick your favorite!
